sudden change of plan
...as forecast, yesterday's sunshine was replaced by steady rain, this morning, but was nothing like as heavy or persistent as it had been on Saturday. By 3pm, the rain had stopped and small patches of blue sky were becoming larger.
Not wanting to waste what little light there would be before dusk or the next belt of rain pushed in, my plan was to get some shots of Durlston Castle. As we approached along the coast path from Anvil Point, we became mesmerised by a pod of dolphins about 100m off the rocks below us. It was one of those moments when I found myself cursing the wide angle lens on my camera. I fired off a few frames in the hope that the dots might be discernible when cropped. It needed a very heavy crop indeed, but you can just about make the dolphins out...
With the light rapidly declining, I decided to make Anvil Point today's image. It wasn't long after we got home that those clouds arrived, too, and added a little more to the water that our region has been stock piling over the last several months...
