At least I think that's what this is. I was delighted to find it in bud although I guess it might be a while before it flowers. I also saw that the local witch hazel was just beginning to flower which is earlier than usual. Both were a cheering sight.

I've just been given another date for my hip operation of 19th December, not ideal as regards Christmas, but a bird in the hand! Otherwise it was looking as if it would be late January.
