The national Independence Day parade
This year’s national independence day military parade was organised in Tampere. The parade incorporated troops from the Finnish Army, Navy and Air Force, National Defence University, Finnish Defence Forces’ Logistics Command, Finnish Border Guard and national defence organisations with the total strength of around 1,300 persons. There were in total 56 vehicles, 12 aircraft as well as a 30-strong riding cavalry.
In the picture is CV9030 FIN infantry fighting vehicle. I know it because Leevi told me so, he has worked with this kind of vehicles when he completed his military service.
In the evening we had our normal family traditions in celebrating Finland's Independence Day: raclette dinner and annual Independence Day Gala on national TV.
Happy 102nd birthday Finland!
