Cock Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus torquatus)
Another emergency blip. This Cock Pheasant has become a recent visitor to the garden. He stands out from out usual visitors by the grey patches on the wings and rump.
There have been 6 subspecies of Pheasant recorded in the UK. I suspect the vast majority are a mix of the subspecies. This individual, perhaps a recent release from a shooting estate, seems to be showing more of the torquatus subspecies than usual.
