Sarabande No. 1

After a safe flight, I had the job of navigating Rebecca and I to the Campanile Hotel in Arcueil, which I managed surprisingly well!

Arcueil is just outside the centre of Paris in the south of the city. Although we were quite far from all the places we wanted to see, I found that it gave us a better sense of the entirety of the city: we were outsiders viewing Paris from a distance; not through a telescope as we might've been if staying in the centre.

We later learned that Arcueil was where Erik Satie spent much of his life and is now buried there. On a short walk on our first night, I took this picture and was instantly put in mind of this Sarabande.
