The Music of What Happens
Seamus Heaney was famously born at, and wrote about, his family farm Mossbawn in County Derry, Northern Ireland.
Although there's no clear connection between the name of his native place and the sort of moss that coats the rocks and branches in this woodland I always make the association.
So I've put this image here simply to let any who loves Heaney's poetry, or would like to find out more about him and his work, know that there's a new film, made following his death in 2013, that's currently available on BBC iplayer and I'm sure will be elsewhere in time. It's called The Music of What Happens
It's a full length feature film that both mourns and celebrates this great man, with members of his own family and his friends speaking his verse. Their knowledge and love of Seamus Heaney brings passion and humour into the lines and makes the film an outstanding tribute.
A highly recommended watch.
