Apparition de l'Eglise Eternelle

Throughout our trip, the Eiffel tower played tricks with us. On our first night it was clearly visible from our hostel; but in the morning, it wasn't. Due to the weather it would keep appearing and disappearing from the Parisian skyline and on multiple occasions we both swore it kept getting closer to us as we looked at it.

This photo was taken from the top of l'Arc de Triomphe, a relative stone's throw away from the tower, yet it lurks like the shadow of a distant invader. As we walked towards it, it disappeared from view almost entirely until we were right in front of it, intimidated by its gargantuan presence.

We both agreed we were too scared to even think of getting inside the tower.
