Delightful
This afternoon we attended the holiday concert of the Magnolia Chorale, of which Manda is now a member. She's always been musical, plays several instruments and loved playing in concert with friends. So she took singing lessons, and joined this group which has been going for thirty years. And they are wonderful! Some really fine voices, and the selection of Scandinavian songs and carols were most enjoyable. This is the best shot I could get of Manda actually singing - from my vantage point, it was hard to see the performers due to the ladies whose heads you also see here.
Also performing was a group of eight elementary and middle school age girls who play stringed instruments. Dressed in Scandinavian folk costumes, they were a delight for eye and ear.
After the concert Manda, Andrew, Lex and I went out to dinner and it was still quite light out when we arrived. As you can see from the two photos at the restaurant, it was very dark by the time we left. The restaurant was on the water, giving us an interesting view.
Not surprisingly, I found that being in a crowd really tested my hearing. For the most part, I couldn't understand anything anyone was saying.
It was great to get out and do something that felt this good.
