First Amaryllis of the Season

I love amaryllis blooms and this season.

The tree has been brought in, is drinking water, is still standing and looks gorgeous. Merry did some minor investigation last evening, but has paid no attention to it today. We shall see when the lights and ornaments go on.

For the Record,
This day came in warm with lashing rain...and it has continued all day.

I just got word from another painting mate that D's mother slipped away peacefully this afternoon. This is the third loss for D since late summer, all so close. She has no living siblings or partner. We will hold her close and be there for her, but grief is a harsh mistress as we know and this is just the worst season for a loss.
