Exploration

I ventured into another area of the woods to see what I could find and came across a fallen tree that left an interesting stump behind. I just love the twisted shapes and knots and holes and rich colours and perhaps most of all the grain and bark.

I've taken shots like this before and I wonder sometimes whether I'm repeating myself. On the other hand, practice makes perfect; I should keep exploring other ways to shoot the same subject and/or process it and present it differently.
