Temporary Closure

There are two campsites in the valley and both were closed today due to the fires. This won't please the backpackers who love them because they are free. Consequently they are usually very overcrowded and it's probably about time council started charging something for their use.

We got a phone call last night from the Rural Fire Service advising us that the Ruined Castle fire which I blipped yesterday had jumped the Narrow Neck Plateau and into the Megalong Valley. That puts it only a couple of kilometres from the farm. Fortunately the weather and winds have been milder today and they have been doing backburns to try and stop it spreading further.
