1950s test equipment

I am shrugging off my collection of vintage instruments. The HMV Gramophone and the Nixie tube frequency counter have gone, but the heaviest lump remains.

This is a c1950 Oscilloscope: the Cossor 1049 mkIIIA oscillograph - from the days of forefront British electronic test equipment. A totally transistor free zone - it is a massive box of humming valves and coils and quite a beast when it is warmed up.

As featured all around the Blofeld lair in the James Bond film Dr No!

Great condition (for nearly 70yr old) with no broken knobs or connectors.

This twin beam oscillograph was last working about 10 years ago, when I last switched it on. The beam trace only manages to sweep about half of the screen - not sure what the problem is here. Possibly and adjustment or leaky valve. If I had the time I might clean and check it over and try it again, but until then it stays unplugged.

It is FREE to collect for anyone who wants to pick it up from London SW15 ... but be warned as it is heavy and the 'carrying' handle strap has fallen apart. No problem with a car, but don't come on foot or on your bike.
