A pause...

... in the pecking, for this Great Spotted Woodpecker. The pause lasted long enough for a couple of shots and then the head disappeared inside the shell.

There was a pleasant change in the weather this morning,  making a trip up to Harlow Carr Gardens worthwhile. The change is not likely to last long with pretty disgusting weather due back any time soon.
