Lunchtime Concert

Approaching Dewsbury Town Hall around lunchtime we saw these Mounted Police chatting with shoppers.   We wondered what their presence meant.   Surely not we rowdies going to a Lunchtime Concert!

We saw The university of Huddersfield Brass Band conducted by Jonathan Beatty.   An excellent programme and superbly played by the music students of the University.

Huddersfield has had a long history of music in the Town, with many choirs and brass bands.   The Department of Music & Drama at the University was ranked as 25th in the world to study 'Performing Arts' in 2019.   Amongst the performers were a young girl from Japan and a young man from China, both studying Music here.

Alan enjoyed the singing flexing his vocal chords with gusto.   He does miss the Choir, but we are going to see them perform on Saturday.

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
