One of my former colleagues had asked me to help him out occasionally and thus this morning I was again at a school in town where the lesson is the Dutch language for women of migrant background and especially for the mums whose children go to school, where they get their weekly lessons too.

This morning councilor Bert from one of Den Haag's district councils visited the training and received the petition to continue the subsidies for these basic lessons for the migrant mothers. These lessons are more than learning our language, coz they must convince their spouses and kids that this training and learning is a benefit for all in the family and themselves; it's a means of empowerment and emancipation... still quite hard to get such across in the traditionel migrant families! 
Anyway, these ladies managed that and now they ask this politician to provide the money for the costs of the training in coming years too.
