SLOW DOWN
Took G to the Windermere Steamboat Museum this morning before the full rain descended. Now for some reason I had it in my head that it was situated between Newby Bridge and Bowness and couldn't find it. We carried on after a bit and it is just after Bowness towards Troutbeck!!!!
Anyway we went in to the cafe, which is rather nice even on such a dreich morning as this one. This is the view from the very large window where we had coffee. It would appear that "real" photographers were there obviously filming a family and photographing for advertising the museum. I briefly admired there "kit" but didn't get too involved as they were saying things like "if you walk through there you can be in it" - ummm no thank you.
We then looked round the museum, inspected a few of the boats in the boathouse, some are really beautiful. I did take quite a few pictures. It was a pleasant museum full of drawers to pull out giving loads of facts and you could hear local people telling stories on some headphones.
We then had a pootle round their shop and bought a couple of items.
Then headed home. Stopped off in Grange - and "shock horror" it wasn't sunny - it was pouring it down.
For what it's worth, and right or wrong, I have cast my vote. It was very busy and getting along Kents Bank Road was a nightmare. This was largely due to some people having to park right outside the polling station, albeit has yellow lines, single ones admittedly. That would be OK if it were the elderly or infirm, but it was people dressed up in full waterproofs with obviously no walking problems at all. There is a car park only a few yards away - aaarrrggghhh!!
Oh well I've voted.
Now got to run to take Hubby out for this Thursday "putting the world to rights" with a pint or three with his friends.
I will try and look at your blips later, please accept my apologies if I don't get round to it until tomorrow.
Thanks for dropping by. Stay dry, warm and safe and see you tomorrow.
