Polling Place or Poling Plaice?
A wintry dawn on another significant day in deciding the future direction of our country - or maybe not? Our children south of the border all vote in “stations”. We vote in “places”! Not sure how that distinction arose?
In my blip two fisherpeople are turning stones and gathering the crustaceans that lurk below. It made me wonder what might be found lurking when the ballot boxes are opened later this evening.
After voting we headed into town for Christmas errands for T and more meetings for me. We met for lunch later in the large bookshop on Princes Street before retreating from the madding masses to the relative tranquility of Portobello. As the temperature drops the log burner earns its keep and keeps us warm as we catch up on some recent tv drama. A drama of a much more significant kind is about to unfold beginning with the Exit Poll prediction at 2200.
