Boys to school before a meandering cycle ride aboot toon. From the house of Muir to Tollcross and onto Wester Hailes; brain freeze and ice block feet; it was a cold morning to be out on 2 wheels.
Frustratingly the W Hailes one wants me to come back - what - you couldn't pick up the phone? Wait for me to trek miles out of my way to let me know. Not that it'll affect how I deal with it, oh no....
Off over the hills to Southhouse and onwards / downwards to Craigmillar. Another radge time waster. And finally into town ahead of my morning deadline.
A goodly rummage in Lidl, a sprint through EH5 and home for some late lunch. And to thaw out.
I was out for a couple of stragglers (and to vote) before settling in to write up reports; a school pick up and goulash/ meatballs.
Homework and irreverent chat; and then the sombre business of watching the election fall out.
There's no real victory; there's still a schism that divides the haves and the have nots. Hardly cause for celebration for anyone. There's no real healing going to come from these results.
And we're now looking increasingly like 2 countries - Scotland to it's credit has chosen communal well being over the self interest that looks like it's dominating the rest of the not-so United Kingdom.
