Welcome Visitor

We were honoured by this visitor to our garden this morning. There were hoards of birds desperate to get some nourishment. At one point eight male blackbirds were tolerating each other in thier desperation to eat.

I was just wondering if all of the dunnocks were actually dunnocks when something cuaght my eye. This thrush came out of the shrubbery turning over dead leaves as he went. I only had a few seconds to snap him before he flew off.

It gets icy on these slabs in cold weather as the birds still delight in splashing the water out of the bird bath. Today was very cold indeed.
