After the rains

After the heavy rains of yesterday I drove Deb to work in the Land Rover - wading through some flooded roads. Then went to the east side of Derwentwater and explored Manesty woods - fortunately packed wellies. The floods had come up to the levels I photographed them in 2015. In fact, to get to the position where I took the photos, the water was within 2" of the top of my wellies!

Many of you will recognise the tree in the extra (yes, it is a tree!) Which gives you some idea of how high water levels have risen.
