old boot

The story goes that in the East End of London many years ago photographers used to drag props around with them and knock on doors to see if any one wanted a photograph taking of their children. So, here is my father-in-law sitting in a rather large boot to have his picture taken. Not sure that he looks too happy about it though. many people took advantage of this offer as working class folk couldn't afford cameras .

it is a lasting and unusual photograph for us down the line of generations to remember our ancestors by.
