Fire Travels

Evacuations have occurred as this fire, roughly north of Lithgow, advances. The Blue Mountains are much clearer of smoke than the Megalong and Hartley valleys, but the front has entered the Grose Valley already.

flakes of ash settling on the car;
the friendly greeting, not 'Happy Xmas', but
'May you be safe from the fires.'
