Blue sky Monday

The forecast was good and it was Monday. We thought we would go to Whitby . . . so we did. And what a glorious day it has been - bright clear, sunny and not too cold. Blue skies, blue sea. It was a delight to walk all along the quayside without crowds of people, it was lovely to reach the sea and watch the waves, to wander along an almost deserted West Pier. We admired the work that has been done to strengthen the walls, which had been dangerously crumbling - EU funding!! (Of course Gordon had to climb the 81 steps to the top of the lighthouse - that's him at the top.) 

Superb fish and chips and a wander in the sunshine by the sea at Sandsend. And we were home before dark. That's the way to spend a Monday!
