Unfurling

I do like these flowers, can't remember what they are called. A couple of days spent close to home -- a bit chillier today, not even warm enough to sit in the garden!

FilmIn has rejuvenated our interest in streaming films. We tried Mubi.com for a while but the films are too obscure and the choice too limited. FilmIn has so many of our kind of film that we can always find something to fit our mood, and we've built up a waiting list. Older films are included in the subscription while newer ones require a payment of a couple of euros. 

Last night we finally managed to watch Japanese director Kore-Eda's recent Shoplifters, which won the Palme d'Or. At one point in the middle I wondered if it was ever going to go anywhere, but then it suddenly got quite dramatic. Like many of his films it's about family ties. If you want to see it, don't read any reviews because they are nearly all spoilery.

Made the mistake of looking at Twitter just now and nearly blew a gasket over Nicky Morgan's sudden elevation. The sheer shamelessness is breathtaking.
