Marathon Stadium

It so happens that I live in a historic place, Marathon, where the Marathon race takes place every year in honor of the ancient athenian runner Fidippidis. He fell dead just after telling the Athenians "we won". He run the whole distance of 45 km from Marathon to Athens non stop just after the end of the battle against Xerxes and the Persians. This is the stadium where the marathon race begins, a few meters from home. Went there this evening for some walking...
