Pogatchel

This may be the name, it may not, but it's a cookie recipe from my grandmother, maybe it was a family recipe, I just don't know. I have the recipe card she wrote and that's what she called it. It's not really a holiday cookie but I've made it one.

Here's the recipe:
combine 3 cups flour 1/2 pound of butter and 1 t. baking powder
add two egg yolks 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 a lemon


work together and add enough sour cream to hold together
(that's all that's on the  recipe card but my mother told me the rest)


roll out, cut with cookie cutters, wash with egg white, sprinkle with nuts and cinnamon and sugar bake at 375 for about 15 minutes or until they are lightly browned.
