Bird group day ..

I like Tuesdays. It's the day I go out with my bird group. We have an expert leader who can recognise birds from the briefest call or slightest glimpse.

Today we braved the snow and went to North Cave Wetlands.

We saw a surprising number of species .. green woodpeckers, snipe, buzzard, kestrels, robins, various tits and finches, great spotted woodpecker and all sorts of ducks and water birds.

And this chap - a fieldfare.
