Christmas meal at Birds & Bees with Y and D

Yet another festive meal; this time at the Birds and Bees with Yvonne and David who are on route to Cyprus where they will be spending Christmas and New Year.
As usual we were treated to an excellent quality meal and impeccable service. Our selection from the Christmas dinner menu:
STARTERS
Prawn cocktail- Me
Mushroom and cashew pate with walnuts and sour dough bread - Yvonne
Chicken liver parfait and toasted brioche - David
MAINS
Roast beef - me
Lentil, sweet potato and nut roast with onion sauce - Yvonne
Roast turkey -David
SWEETS
Selection of continental cheeses - me
Christmas pudding with Creame Anglais and sticky toffee sauce - Yvonne and David
(I got a bit too excited by the sweets and forgot to photograph them!!).
This was followed by coffee, delicious home made tablet and Sharwood mints. My meal was lubricated by a glass, or two of excellent house red whilst Yvonne opted for white ( the first she’s had since her knee replacement surgery more than 6 months ago.)..
Fantastic company and an excellent meal: can unreservedly recommend the Birds and Bees even at this busy time of year where standards and quality drop dramatically in many establishments - not so here.
