Lonely Mountains

This quintessentially Scottish landscape of the Trossachs photographed ten minutes walk up the road from my home always strikes me as an ideal backdrop for a ghost story- or a grim bit of Nordic noir.
 
Christmas would not be Christmas without seeing a performance of 
The Nutcracker streamed live tonight in the Macrobert arts centre from the Royal Opera House in Covet Garden.
 
This was a very special performance to celebrate Peter Wright’s 90th birthday and he came on stage at the end to rapturous applause.
