Springtime at Christmas

Lovely day. We collected a mildly hungover Dizzle from his hostel (they had a bit of a rooftop bar session last night - talk about making friends quickly) and walked down to Neve Tzedek. Superb breakfast in a vegan restaurant with a little courtyard - wonderful breads, tofu scramble, granola, asparagus omelette, and "cheesy" dips and not an egg or dairy product in sight.

Some lovely little jewellers in this district. TSM indulged herself with a beautiful necklace and I bought her some earrings (for Christmas - or maybe Chanukah).

Carmel market was colourful and crazy. We stopped at the Beer Bazaar for a half hour, and it didn’t disappoint. Very well crafted beers. After that I went to watch The Dizzle experimenting with a paddle board, although the waves weren’t really good enough.

With the rest of the family flying in late afternoon, we had five of us at a local Israeli restaurant for dinner. Very good latkes in particular. Have eaten well today.

The weather has been soft and springlike. My favourite kind of sunshine.
