Smells of Christmas

I love the spicey smells of Christmas - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, mace, orange. When the kids were small they used to make Christingels at school - an orange studded with cloves which would be hung up. This bowl contains all those smells and l give it a stir as l pass by.

A long day ahead of us as we are catching the train up to the beautiful old city of York, friend Woollyback and hubby A are coming down from the Dales and we will meet for a merry lunch, a mooch around the Christmas market and of course a visit to the most beautiful of them all, York Minster.
