A Break from the Fires.......

..........can be achieved by minding the grandchildren.

It’s not that there has been any improvement in the fire situation but it sure takes your mind off them.

The kids created havoc in the house turning out the toy box and cutting up old Christmas cards this morning.
It being a rare hot day in Blackheath (in fact it was a record average temperature for Australia today at 41C) we took them to the pool this afternoon. They are now home spending the first night in their new house.

This evening we went to the Rotary Christmas party. It was a rather sombre event as news went around that the fires are encroaching on the northern side of Blackheath.
Several people went home early to check their houses and we had all left by 9:30pm. Mr isbi has now made a quick trip down to the valley to check on things there.
At this stage it seems to be more smoke then fire and a cooler day is forecast for tomorrow before the heat wave returns on Saturday.
