Industrial England
I took this out of the train window as we whizzed across the land on the way to York on Thursday. Cooling towers are not seen quite so much now and as they are no longer needed are being spectacularly demolished- adverts are placed letting people know when they are to be demolished and you can view from a distance as they are blown up and rather gracefully implode to the ground. They are a symbol of the industrial past of this country and there is a move now to try and keep them.
These 8 cooling towers are at the Eggborough power station.
