This is the scene at the bottom of my garden about 10 minutes ago (now 3.40pm). The willow tree doesn't usually stand in water and the brown seed stems/reeds that are sticking out of the water should be at water line where bank stops and river starts. Where my plum tree is standing is at the top of my river bank, the bank is about four feet high, so that's how much the water has risen so far. Steven put the stake into the flood level at 12.00 midday and it's now standing in water. Scary times as more rain is forecast overnight.
The extra is from the other end of the garden facing down river and the Alders are usually at the top of the river bank. the little oak tree is usually well up from the water level. Looks like I could get wet feet if I sat on my bench there!!
