Surprise visit

It was a nice surprise to learn by chance yesterday that an old pal was visiting Edinburgh, and would have time to meet up this morning before getting her train back to London. We had coffee and pastries at her hotel, then got a bus along to Elm Row so that I could briefly  introduce her to Valvona & Crolla and Toppings. She had to speak very firmly to herself to avoid buying any more books.....

In the evening we (self and the two Daves) went to the Vaults where I'd hired the Cask Room for a wee soiree. We ate before the event, which started with a two-dram tasting for ten of us; a 9 year old Glen Moray and a much older (forget exactly) Glenburgie - then we were gradually joined by even more people and drams. Malc and Syuzen came over briefly, bringing Tam, even though they were doing a gig this evening. I think a good time was had by all, certainly by me!
