Mount Pond: Climbing Cormorant
More defined rimlit remiges in large.
My mother and I went to Mount Pond in the early afternoon; the Cayuga was nowhere to be seen (boo), but there were lots of black-headed gulls wheeling about, and the usual suspects were pottering about on the water. Also spied a pair of shovelers deep in the sheltered reed beds, but couldn't get a clear shot...
This cormorant climbed up and out, and caught a band of sunshine as it cleared the trees near the pond; The Shard was glowing like a beacon in the distance even though we were mostly in quite chilly gloom...
Today's other shots are here (or right from Tousled tufted duck)
