Winter Solstice

Which means that our evenings will be getting lighter each day, only by a second or so though - but every little helps.

#1 daughter called this morning on her way up to Edinburgh.  Pressies were exchanged and I was glad to have everything ready and packed up for her before her long journey northwards to spend Christmas with #1 Granddaughter who has recently been relocated there.  #2 grandson will be flying up from Bristol to join them too.  
 
I've had a nice lazy day today culminating  in a beautiful Lessons and Carols Service by candlelight in our local Church.
