A book to remember
"Remembered", by Yvonne Battle Felton
Philadelphia 1910. A black mother sits at her son's hospital bed. He is in critical condition. She decides to share her family history with him.
1843 A black girl, born free, runs home and gets snatched to be taken away as a slave.
Sounds interesting, doesn't it? It is, for a large part. Enough to keep me reading until I finished. Especially the first part kept me engrossed. Later on not as much. In the end it got better again.
The book does give some insight in slavery and the end of it, but I think there must be better books on this subject.
