Thomas and James

Disaster today - #2 daughter tried out the nutcracker that James requested - it broke at the first crack. Yesterday it was Walnuts whips with no walnuts and now nutcrackers that’s don’t crack nuts. Whatever next?! I have brought an old-fashioned one from my kitchen so hopefully he’ll have his wish and can get cracking tomorrow.

We are now at Whitley Bay, having arrived armed with 4 pheasants, potatoes ready to roast, bacon I rolled this morning, sausages, cranberry and orange relish, homemade anchovy biscuits, brandy butter and lots of presents for the family.

All Mr C had to do was bring some drink. He forgot the champagne. We’ll make do with Cremante de Jura, wine and amarula.

This is Thomas on the left - he’d made this picture of St Mary’s lighthouse and James about to hide his cards for me to find. They are in fine fettle, and now are tracking Santa on the NASA website.

Happy Christmas!
