Merry Christmas!

Today I was an Innkeeper. (Can't fathom out why they cast me in that role!)

Our Minister was the angel Gabriel and various other members of the church played the parts of Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth, a Roman governor, and Shepherds.

Star of the show, though, was Noddy the Donkey as our interactive Nativity Play took us from the Village bus stop to the chip shop and then onto the Main Street, stopping at a hairdresser's, bookmakers, pub and flower shop, meeting the different characters from the Christmas story along the way. We finished up at the Village Christmas Tree to sing a few carols before walking up to the church for hot drinks and snacks.

This was our first, but I suspect not the last, attempt at an outdoor Nativity Play and we certainly caught the imagination, judging by the number of people who came out to join in the fun. We also benefited from the dry and relatively mild weather.
