Faces locked in photographs...
...open windows to the past.
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. It's also the time we feel the loss of our loved ones the most, but do our best to remember them with love and laughter and thanks. So many happy memories.
Thinking of two good friends in particular this year, who are currently enduring great loss and facing their first Christmas without their loved ones.
My friend M, who lost her 28 year old son to suicide earlier this year. I marvel every day at her strength to carry on whilst in the depth of her despair at losing her first born so tragically.
And my dear friend P, who lost his dad last week. Such a sad loss regardless but more keenly felt at this time of year.
Thinking of you both, and your families, with love.
We remember you this Christmas
And now, all that can be done here is done.
Alan is having a ball with Ally and new support worker Ailie (first day and he adores her!) and for me a Baileys with orange on the rocks, a snuggle on the couch with David and Lola whilst we watch some great christmas movie I say Love Actually, D says Die Hard. Same argument every year! awaits me.
Wishing you all the best Christmas possible surrounded by love and laughter. Remember, it's the people round the tree, not the presents under it that count....although pressies are good too ;-))
xxxxxxxxxx
