His Masters Voice
A nice Daddy day today. I collected Boy first as usual and we headed out of the cold and on to the sofa to watch Peppa Pig on the telly box until it was time to get Girl. Once we obtained her we all bundled into the car and headed for Gunwharf.
The little ones chose AC-DC again for our soundtrack to get us there (I am so proud) and once there we headed to the troubled HMV to wait for Wife. It is a worry that the highstreet is seemingly falling a part these days taking lots of peoples jobs with it. A number of years ago I worked for a company that sold point of sale software and one day the sales director told me that the future of teh high street is charity shops and sex shops, he may be right the way they are falling at the moment. Jessops last week, HMV a couple of days ago and today Blockbuster.
HMV is by no means the best music seller, the independents are far more fun, but that said I would have been lost growing up without HMV. So as we waited we decided that we should try and through a few pennies in the pot and make some purchases while we were there. I could have spent hours in there flicking through the cds, there is something quite theraputic in doing so, but this was not why we were shopping. We were there for Wife.
The other day she spotted a new watch. We have been on the look out for one for her birthday since her birthday and today we were there to make the final choice and get it. Which we did before then having a family dinner out to save the expense of cooking at home.
This meant we got home a bit late with two very moany little ones, full of pasta and both clutching orange balloons.
