Mystery

This "scene" seems to have popped up in the last day or two.  I frequently set out on evening walks with Luna from here. (The car isn't mine).

The forest is all State forestry but I thought the field on the left was/is privately owned. A large area has been covered with gravel, the ditch running alongside the forest on the left has been cleared out and the substantial amount of deciduous wood 'logs' dumped.

I somehow doubt it is to do with the state forestry as there are few deciduous trees in the forest. I suspect the landowner has moved logs from fallen trees somewhere else & will be using the area to chop it all up into firewood.
