Boxing Day Outing
Of course we went to Coppice Pond today to feed the ducks even though it was grey, damp and miserably cold!
Eda fed the ducks and then we went around the other side of the pond to feed the swans. By the time we got there half of them had crossed to where we had just walked from, never mind they were all there when we got back. There were some ducks I didn’t recognise in the middle of the pond. John saw they were Little Grebes on the information board, about 6 of them I would say. I also spotted the Heron on the Island.
This morning Eda opened the rest of her presents, from inside her box of course, including her Duplo from Granny and Boppa and her new jumper which seems to fit well. Mummy and Daddy have now gone for a run, supposedly while she slept. She obviously didn’t know this and cried immediately they left. She is now watching ‘The Snail and the Whale’ which we missed yesterday.
Alex will be coming for Boxing Day tea soon and then he and Chris are off to do there bit for Inn Churches picking up a group of homeless people from the city centre to stay overnight and eat in our sister church in Wilsden for the next few nights. Lots of churches in the area do this over the winter months and it is usually our turn from Christmas to New Year. They get an evening meal, overnight bed and breakfast in the morning but return to town during the day.
It helps us to realise how lucky we are.
