After The Storm

Wild weather was forecast and it duly arrived overnight. We all had long lies.  After breakfast I got stuck into The Salt Path.  Cakes were provided for elevenses.  Late morning the rain had gone off, so I went for walk along the beach.  Later TT, BB and I went to Machrie to meet up with some friends also holidaying on the island.  We had to traverse floods and landslides to get there, but we made it, only to find the café closed.  We headed to Café Thyme up the road and rendezvoused successfully with our friends and had a lovely catch up with more cakes!  While there we heard all about roads being closed, floods and general disruption across the island.  They were surprised we had made it there.

We drove home carefully admiring all the waterfalls.  TT and I went for a  wee walk before heading to the local golf club for fish and ships for tea, followed by tablet ice cream.  A tea made in heaven!  It was then home for wine, TV, another beach walk and a jigsaw.
