JUST as it should be?

The centre of attention for today.
Extra - "Treasure hunt." They are due to go to Center Parcs tomorrow, but are, at this point, unaware.
They had a short treasure hunt where each clue, bar the 1st, had one word on the back.
Having solved them all they learnt:-
"We are going to Center Parcs tomorrow"; which leads me, seamlessly, into another grumble:-
As a dyed in the wool, Ancient Brit; with a penchant for stirring it, I've never understood why "they" choose to spell centre as though they are American and yet spell Parcs as though French. All suggestions gratefully received.
