Merry Christmas

Mr C was still up last night when I went to bed. Prepping and drinking (he loves ales and works he way through different parts of the country.. or other countries. The children brought  back some beer from Bruge when they visited last week). But at 1.30am he decided to set up our extension table, an old fold away with metal legs. Making a right racket, I went downstairs suggested we did this in the morning and he should come to bed!

We had our alarm on for 7 but he also set Alexa up to blast out we wish you a merry Christmas... not impressed (he’s worse than the children sometimes). The children arrived about 9 in their pjs (they are like 5 year olds still) ready to open up their pressies.

Then it was a scrambled egg and smoked salmon breakfast with Buck’s Fizz. The children got dressed and dinner was slowly cooked.

We had a lovely day playing games and eating but this year was quite mellow for us. I struggled with tiredness throughout the day and I think many of the others did too. The build up to Christmas and the last week in particular has been incredibly busy for all of us.

Just remembered to grab pic of the tree at the end of the day.

BOXING DAY

No photos taken :-(

Much more chilled day and I felt much better. The weather was wet so no walks or treasure trails this year. The children arrived about 1.30 and we had Little bets going on the races at Kempton Park. Something new for us and we had fun watching on tv and we broke even at the end. I was in the kitchen baking sausage rolls and getting food ready for the hungry clan. Some more new games including a Sherlock Holmes game Mr C received for Christmas. Good fun.

They all left about 8 as Mo is working tomorrow.
