Ah..............

In the state forest, you will find all sorts of different neon spray can markings on trees. There seems to be a universal language used by foresters to instruct those - often sub-contractors - which trees to harvest, which ones to leave standing, where the machines should drive etc.

As I know the chief forester responsible for this part of the forest, I suspect one of the apprentices has been having some fun with a tree felled by a storm.
