Leadenhall Market
Another local London haunt, Leadenhall Market is in the City. It's not a 'local, local' market anymore, but can still be defined as one because of the array of items it offers: fish, meat, wine, cheese, jewelry, books, clothes etc.
What is lovely about this market is the set of colors which every shop has to respect. Front shops are painted deep red, with gold leaf lettering shop titles and pillars which dress either side of the shop are Roman in design and in colour.
Cobbled stones are wonderful underfoot and even the moist, damp air ornately cloaks the market rather than obscures it.
I had a lovely evening with my two oldest London friends John and Mandy. I forgot just how much I can laugh for hours and hours. I loved it.
We make promises we'll get together more often. I'm sure we will do it despite us being in different parts of the world because friendship has no geography: it's always within and as such is never far away.
Cheese and wine were bloody marvelous too.
