Marbled Godwit

Merlin Bird ID app tells me that is the name of this wading bird seen today near Tom's Cove and the beach.  It was very still, the water was like glass and apparently just the right depth for a number of wading birds to hang out.  

It was another great day on Assateague Island and my very patient husband gets high marks for putting up with me and my frequent stops.  We came across several hawks, more ponies but at a great distance and lots of Great White and Snowy Egrets.  I have loaded a few more shots in extra.  I am finding it hard to get a shot of a pony that doesn't have its head down eating.  Perhaps tomorrow....
